Inherently Different

Sundance Pt. 3

Greetings from Park City, Utah’s Internet Cafe. The Red Queen and I are having a great time up here in the boondocks of Utah. We’ve caught a fistfull of stars (Macaulay Culkin, Seth Green, Jena Malone, Patrick Fugit, Udo Kier and some others), a bunch of flicks and lots of food.

So far, the Red Queen and I have watched: (Venue, Genre, Score)

The Fine Art of Poisoning (Slamdance, Short, 9 out of 10)
Twins (Sundance, Short, 9 out of 10)
Tackle Box (Slamdance, Short, 9 out of 10)
Dirty Work (Sundance, Documentary, 9 out of 10)
Goldfish Game (Slamdance, Drama, 1 out of 10)
X,Y (Slamdance, Drama, 1 out of 10)
Saved (Sundance, Drama, 10 out of 10)
Dogville (Sundance, Drama, 10 out of 10)
One Point O (Sundance, Drama, 10 out of 10)

Tonight we’ll try to see another couple but honestly, we’re winding down. There are a number of films we would have like to check out (Garden State, D.E.B.S, The Woodsman, Riding Giants) but they sold out long before we arrived Tuesday.

I’ve taken tons of pictures and if I wasn’t such a moron, I would have brought my USB cable so I could upload some of them from the road. As it stands, it’ll have to wait until I get back to the Fortress of Solitude to write my reviews and post the pics. Stay tuned.

  1. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the pics of the SAVED cast!!!

I’ve also been enjoying Blogging Sundance (although its badly written) and also indiewire and FilmThreat coverage.

But, best of all, the McSweeney’s coverage. (I put the link above.) I searched Amazon.com to try to find out more about this writer Kyle Minor to no avail (apparently has no books out dammit) but I also Google-stalked him and found a website http://www.kyleminor.com

Needless to say, I hope McSweeney’s (I have a sub to the print mag) does more film stuff in the future.

    Love & kisses,

    Jen Bayes

P.S. — Did you actually get to talk to Culkin and crew or just hang for a bit? (So, so jealous, this girl is.)
