Today the Red Queen and I went snorkeling at the beach across the street from our apartment and saw among other things: A school of Weke (goatfish), various sea urchins of various sizes and types, a few Hawaiian Triggerfish (much easier to say than Humuhumunukunukuapua’a) and a green sea turtle. Everything but the green sea turtle is a common sight. This was the first time the Red Queen got to see a green sea turtle up close and personal.
The whales are now running through the channel between Maui and Kaho’ olawe so perhaps we can get a glimpse of those over the next few weeks. And if anyone wants to pony up and buy me an underwater camera, I can take some pictures of them up close and personal.
ahhhh. i so wish i could have spent my day in the water watching sea turtles and such. wanna trade?
